PRODUCT INFORMATION
Mixed Mini Bonsai Lotus Seeds Made in Japan Germination rate: > 96% Germination period: 3-5 days Flowering time: 2 months The plant is 40-45 cm tall, belongs to the ornamental lotus type, small size, many flowers, many beautiful colors Suitable for growing in porcelain pots, glass vases... for landscaping, decoration Can be planted in all seasons of the year Expiration date: 12/2026
Step 1: Prepare the Seed The rounded end of the seed is the side that needs processing. Use a sharp knife to gently peel off a bit of the outer shell at this end to help the seed absorb water faster and sprout quickly. Alternatively, you can rub this end against a concrete surface to thin the shell. Be careful not to damage the seed core. The pointed end does not need any processing.
Step 2: Soak the Seed Soak the treated mini Japanese lotus seeds in warm water (about 30°C). This does not need to be exact. Replace the water twice a day. During the sprouting and initial growing stage, expose the seeds to mild sunlight in the morning and evening to prevent stunted growth. Make sure to protect the seeds from rodents while soaking.
Step 3: Wait for Sprouting In about 5–7 days, you will see the sprouts emerge. Start preparing the soil or mud for planting. If mud is unavailable, use alluvial soil by mixing it with water in a container and allowing it to settle. After about a week, the soil will be ready for planting. Note: Choose clean, disease-free soil. You can treat the soil by adding a small amount of lime powder to a container of water, letting it settle for a week to kill any pathogens. The usual ratio for mud and water in the planting container is 4 parts mud to 5 parts water.
Step 4: Plant the Sprouts When the sprouts have grown longer and the leaves and roots have started to form, gently place the sprouted seeds onto the prepared mud. Do not bury the seeds completely, as this may cause them to rot. Ensure the container is placed in a sunny area. In about three months, you will be rewarded with fragrant lotus blooms! 🌸
